Nuthatch Hill is a small croft in Mid-Michigan, perched high above the boggy marsh.

It is home to the Barton family and their animal companions, as well as countless little nuthatches.

Inspiration strikes when least expected atop Nuthatch Hill.
We are a husband-and-wife team of conservation-minded nature lovers, seeking a simpler life.
We specialize in breathing new life into cast-offs from centuries past -- be they bits of paper, scraps of metal, or even intangible ideas.

As Michigan's seasons turn from spring to winter, and back again, so do our projects and crafts. We enjoy creating together, in life's spare moments (when we aren't busy tending to our menagerie of children and animals, or growing food and flowers, or baking, or fermenting, or knitting and sewing, or planning the new greenhouse...).

There is something spectacular to be found in a everyday-ordinary thing past its prime. A new perspective and a bit of creativity are all that is needed. From an abused old book or bit of metal, we create tasteful 21st century art pieces with histories that speak volumes.

Preservation, stewardship and patience are the keys to a happy life.
Slow it down. Take care. Create and recreate. Be grateful.

The NUTHATCH HILL ETSY STORE is a curated boutique, specializing in reimagined art pieces, treasured oddities, antique books and ephemera. Our shop is, quite simply, a celebration of things that inspire joy and creativity.
Audrey's NUTHATCH HILL INSTAGRAM provides a day-to-day account of the goings-on atop Nuthatch Hill. Please feel free to follow along.
